New User Management Feature on Channel Gate
Overview: We are excited to announce a new feature on Channel Gate that allows vendors to manage users for their organization directly within the platform. Previously, any changes to user access, including adding new users, required emailing the Channel Gate support team. Now, this process is more streamlined and available directly through the platform.
Where to Access the New Feature: Admins can manage users by navigating to: Account Settings → Users/Team
Who is an Admin? Admins are defined as users who have access to the "Product Management" module in Channel Gate. Admins will be able to see the new Users/Team menu and manage all users under their organization.
Current Actions Available to Admins:
Admins can take the following actions for any existing user as shown in the image:
-
Edit User Details:
-
Admins can update the first name and last name of any user.
-
Note: The email address cannot be modified.
-
Review Application Access:
-
Admins can view and manage the applications a user has access to.
-
If needed, admins can delete access to certain applications.
-
Coming Soon: In the future, admins will also be able to add access to applications for users.
-
Instance Access: Think of "Instance" as your organization. Typically, users will need access to only one instance but may require access to multiple applications. For example, Canadian brands may have a separate instance, though this is optional.
-
Reset Password:
-
Admins have the ability to reset passwords for existing users.
Adding New Users:
Admins will also see an Add User button on the Users/Team page. This feature allows admins to add new users under their organization. When adding a new user, the following fields are required:
-
First Name
-
Last Name
-
Password and Confirm Password
-
Instance Name: Pre-populated to match the admin’s instance
-
Applications the user will need access to:
-
Product Management (Vendor Portal)
-
Order Management
-
SIP
-
Muzeboard
This update will streamline user management, giving you more control and reducing dependency on the support team. Stay tuned for future enhancements, including the ability to add new application access for existing users!
